Our first doctor's appointment was at 9 weeks. It was just basic information on pregnancy, like what to do and what not to do. They also confirmed the pregnancy. I went to the doctor again at about 11ish weeks. I had a pelvic exam at that appointment and we got to hear the heartbeat! I thought I would be more emotional but it all just happened so fast. She stuck the dopplar (sp?) on my stomach and the heart was thumping! She didn't have to search around for the heart beat at al. The heart rate was 170 bpm. The old wives tale says that faster heart rates (which 170 is considered fast) means GIRL. So we'll see! It doesn't always work out that way, and the nurse said it could have been fast because I hadn't had much water yet that morning. Our next doctor's appointment is September 16, where I will be about 15-16 weeks. Then the October appointment will be the BIG gender reveal ultrasound! I am getting anxious! Here it the survey I found:
Pregnancy Highlights
How far along: 12 weeks
Size of baby: Over 2 inches, the size of a lime
Total weight gain/loss: 1 pound
Maternity clothes: not yet - not even a bella band. I can't wait to wear maternity clothes!
Gender: Undetermined
Movement: None
Sleep: I get 3-5 times during the night to go pee. It's rather annoying!
Symptoms: Starting to fade at this point. I have lots of gas/bloating and am TIRED. all. the. time. I could sleep about 14 hours straight.
What I miss: I miss sleeping straight through the night without getting up to go to the bathroom! I also miss running. Everytime I try to run I start to feel funny and it is harder to breathe when my uterus and other organs are so crowded and pushing on my diaphragm.
Cravings: CHEEZE ITS!! Fruit, pizza, italian food. Chocolate, cake, and ice cream sounds disgusting right now, which is SO weird considering before I was pregnant I ate a bowl of ice cream every night.
Best Moment of the Week: Just overal feeling a lot better!
What I am looking forward to: My stomach getting bigger and wearing maternity clothes, finding out the gender, and seeing Josh being a daddy because I know he will be great!
