Better late than never....

I have been neglecting this blog for awhile. Sorry faithful readers (if I even have any). This post is going to recap our First Anniversary, Family Reunion, and my best friend Addie's wedding.

Josh and I celebrated our first anniversary on July 4, 2009 of course. The more I think about it, the more I think I am NOT going to like having July 4 as my anniversary every year. July 4 is SUCH a fun summer holiday, often spent with friends and family. I don't think I want to miss that every year! Josh and I might have to start celebrating on July 2 or 3, or maybe even after the 4th. Nonetheless, this year we had a fabulous anniversary! Josh surprised me with some beautiful jewelry and a hotel suite stay in Amarillo as a speical little getaway. I loved it! We spent the day doing one of our favorite things: hiking and having a picnic in Palo Duro Canyon. Boy was it hot that day, but we enjoyed ourselves! That night we got dinner and a movie. All around, a very special anniversary and we drifted off to sleep that night happy as ever :)

The very next weekend, July 10-11, we made our way to Mobeetie, TX for the VanZandt family reunion. We had a great time visiting with Friends and Family, and while we were there we celebrated Janie's birthday. Kate, who is Josh's cousin and was the flower girl in our wedding, is growing up so fast! She is a smart little girl and we had a great time playing with her and having water fights.

Last but not least, I spent the last weekend in August in Columbia for one of my best friend's weddings. The wedding was beautiful and I wished Josh could have made the trip. I was a little rusty on my bridesmaid skills, since it had been 3 years since my last bridesmaid adventure (hey jo!). Let's just say us bridesmaids didn't do the best job during the wedding ceremony :). Basically, we didn't listen that great during the rehearsal because we were goofing around so we were a little lost during the ceremony. It made for a few good laughs. Love you Addie and Jared!
