Grandma's 90th

I know it has been a long while since I have last posted. I am just now getting around to uploading photos to the computer & web albums. I have been a busy bee all semester working events and teaching 2 classes. Please forgive!! Hopefully I will have lots of good posts this summer because there is some exciting stuff planned! Anyway, this post is about my Grandma's 90th birthday!!! I know, 90 is old! My Grandma didn't have her children until she was a little bit older in life, so that is why I have a Grandma that is so old :) . The party was on January 31, 2009. Her exact birthdate! It was held at a beautiful country club in Carmel, Indiana (suburb of indianapolis). We had family fly in from all over the U.S. - some of them I had never even met before, like distant cousins and such. So here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Me and Grandma - please excuse my looks - terrible!

Peggy planned the whole party - of course she would get a "90" ice sculpture made :)
Grandma looked so pretty and wore such a nice little outfit. She was glowing the entire day:

The party favors were little Godiva chocolates with a ribbon that said "Dorothy's 90th". It was too cute and matched the color scheme great (teal & gold were the party colors).

Here is the sign in table, some old pictures of Granny:

The flower arrangement at the sign in table:

The ADORABLE cake. I think this was my favorite cake and it was STEAL. I think Peg said it only cost $100 or something, when it looks like a $600 wedding cake! It was absolutely beautiful. Yoe can't tell in the picture that well, but there is a Damask design on the cake that matches the table cloth! Yes, Peg gave the cake lady a swatch of the fabric. It was amazing.

The table had low flower centerpieces in round vases. They were pretty. The linens were fabulous as well and added so much to the table decor, you get a glimpse of the table cloth here:

Another shot of the ice sculpture (and an appetizer table with no food yet)

Far away shot of a table - everything looked great! I love me some chivalri (sp?) chairs! And they had matching cushions. Absolutely fabulous!
The end. It was a great party and Peggy once again did such a great job with the planning! I should have had her do my wedding :) but it might have broken the pocketbook :). Can't wait for the 100th birthday party!
