Family Fun and Business Opportunities

Well, this past weekend was quite fun. Jeremy, Josh's brother, had his final recital for his master's degree in Trumpet Performance. He did wonderful. Of course the recital was right in the middle of the OU vs. Tech football game, but I didn't mind because tech did so poorly. Could we have gotten a bigger whoopin'?! It was depressing. Mainly because now I won't get to go to KC to see Addie or my fam for the Big 12 championship. Our only hope is if OU loses to OSU this coming weekend. I am not holding my breath.

On Saturday afternoon Katy (sister in law) and I went to this little craft show in town called "Holiday Happenings". We were so excited and hoped to find LOTS of christmas decorations because neither of us have many. Seriously, I don't even think we will put up a tree this year because I have a handful of ornaments which means I would have to buy lots of filler ornaments, lights, and decorations which means LOTS of money. We need the extra money for xmas presents for the families. Anyway, back to the story. So we go to Holiday Happenings and it turns out to be a real disappointment. It was more like a shopping mall. Stores from around Texas, NM, and LA came and set up little booths. Now don't get me wrong, it would have been great, but we were so excited to buy XMAS decorations, not gifts from stores. So much for that little trip. We did have fun together, and it is nice having a sister type thing. We sat around and talked and laughed a lot with Josh's mom. It sorta gave me a taste of what it would have been like if I had grown up with sisters who were close in age. If I end up with all girls one day, I know I would love it!

On to bigger and better things....my Dad has been talking seriously lately about "making his next million". In other words, he has a new business idea that I really like. I am not gonna give away any secrets yet, but I really like this business idea. I think it will work and be extremely profitable. Someday, as in like 5 years, Josh and I might move out to help with the business. And Josh and Dad would contract houses together on the side, which Josh is happy about because that is his dream. It's all still talk, but becoming a reality. My dad is talking to a business broker today about selling his current shop and then buying the land our off Gillespie Bridge Road for the new business venture. Keegan is going to minor in a subject in school which will help w/ the business as well becuase he really believes in this idea. Keep your fingers crossed for us! I think it would be so fun to have a family business.

I can't wait for Thanksgiving! Look forward to a post complete with pictures from Thanksgiving. I am sorry I have been so bad at taking pictures recently!

Happy Thanksgiving.
